Actors Rehearsing

Join the 24-Hour Play Festival

Interested in creative chaos?

If you live in the Central Texas area and love theatre, this is the opportunity for you. Cardboard Cinema Productions is proud to present their first 24-Hour Play Festival in Georgetown, Texas!

The rules are simple

All playwrights convene for a lock-in on The Georgetown Square at 7:00 pm. They choose from a pool of actors and select their cast. For the next 12 hours, each playwright must create an original 10-minute play tailored to their cast. Each script must be completed by 7:00 am the following morning.

All directors arrive at 7:00 am to choose their script. Once they arrive, they have until 7:00 pm to rehearse with their cast. This includes implementing any props, costume pieces, and music. At 7:00 pm, the rehearsal period ends, and directors will meet with the event coordinator to decide the performance order.

All actors must provide their resume and headshot along with a prop. This can range from wooden swords to shoe boxes. For a detailed list of what props are NOT allowed, please read the PDF below. Actors are to arrive at 7:00 am with their directors. They have until the end of the rehearsal period to learn their lines and blocking.
